Instagram is reportedly testing a new feature that will allow users to view a dedicated feed exclusively for posts from Meta Verified accounts.

According to Instagram head Adam Mosseri, the feature is being explored as a way to give users more control over their Instagram experience and to help businesses and creators gain more visibility.

The new toggle for the Meta Verified feed will be located under the “Following” and “Favorites” options in the Instagram app. This move comes just two months after Instagram denied rumors of testing such a feature.

However, reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi had discovered code in both the iOS and Android apps that hinted at the potential for a dedicated feed for Meta Verified subscribers.

By introducing a dedicated feed for Meta Verified users, Instagram aims to promote its Meta Verified subscription service.

For a monthly fee of $11.99 on the web and $14.99 on mobile, users can access a range of benefits, including a blue checkmark, enhanced customer support, increased visibility in search and comments, exclusive stickers, and more.

It seems that Instagram is taking inspiration from Elon Musk’s approach to Twitter’s Verified-only feed. Following Musk’s acquisition of Twitter (now X), the social network introduced paid verification through its X Premium subscription service.

For $8 per month, users gain access to various features, including a Verified tab in their Notifications, an edit button, and support for longer posts.

With the introduction of the Meta Verified feed, Instagram aims to incentivize users to sign up for the subscription service by offering them increased visibility and the ability to connect with other verified users.

This move by Meta could also benefit businesses and creators who are looking to expand their reach and gain more followers on the platform.
