Following an early Saturday leak, Ubisoft revealed that it was working on Project Q, a new “team battle arena” game. Prior to Ubisoft’s official announcement, leaker Tom Henderson shared Project Q footage, revealing a game that appears to be a cross between Overwatch and Fortnite.

One mode, dubbed “Showdown,” pits four teams of two players against one another to determine the winner, while another, dubbed “Battle Zone,” pits two teams of four players against one another to earn the most points.

Despite similarities to games such as PUBG and Warzone, Ubisoft was quick to point out that Project Q is not another battle royale. “By the way, this is not a battle royale,” the company clarified on Twitter.

“The game will include a variety of PvP modes, all with one goal in mind: fun!” Ubisoft also stated that it does not intend to include NFTs in Project Q. Ubisoft has been one of the more bullish proponents of Web3 monetization among video game publishers, a stance that has not endeared the company to gamers.
