After years of waiting, Instagram will finally allow you to create posts from the desktop web. The social network is releasing a flurry of updates, culminating on October 21st, when users worldwide will be able to post photos and short videos (under one minute) directly from their computer browser.

Of course, this is useful if you don’t want to reach for your phone, but it could be especially useful for businesses and enthusiasts who want to make better use of their expensive cameras for Instagram post.
There are also numerous updates for mobile users. Collabs, a test feature that went live today (October 19th), allows two people to co-author posts and Reels. To get others involved, simply invite them from the tagging screen.
The post will be seen by both users’ followers, and it will even share views, likes, and comments. It’s safe to say that this could be useful for everything from superstar collaborations to sponsored posts.
Another test, which will begin on October 20th, will allow you to start nonprofit fundraisers directly from the new post button, simplifying charity efforts.
On October 21st, everyone will see new music-driven Reels effects, such as Superbeat (special effects that sync with the beat) and Dynamic Lyrics (3D lyrics that flow with the track).
