Meghan and Harry have been contracted to host and produce multiple podcasts beginning from 2021. Before the next year’s full series, the first item on the list has been scheduled to debut this month, a holiday special co-produced by Archewell Audio, the Duke and Duchess’ new audio production company, in partnership with Spotify-owned podcast production studio Gimlet.

“What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction. With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are,” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a statement.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry bagged a multimillion deal with Netflix in September with the agreement of “creating content that informs but also gives hope.”

The financial details of the deal were not immediately disclosed, but Spotify specifies that the agreement is with Archewell Audio and also describes the upcoming content as “programming that uplifts and entertains audiences around the world.”

The good news is that just anyone will be able to tune in and listen since all podcasts on the platform, including Spotify’s exclusives, are available to non paying users.

Today’s announcement about the deal with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is the latest in a constant barrage of podcast deals for the streaming service giant. Spotify is adding new partners almost on weekly basis.
