The US-China war is escalating more tensions as President Trump has threatened Friday to slam ban on China TikTok, this will make it impossible for the social platform to operate in the U.S. Obviously the ban will be as a result of the social media platform’s ties with Beijing.

“As far as TikTok is concerned, we’re banning them from the United States,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One as he returned from Florida late Friday while stating that he could use emergency economic powers or an executive order to ban the Chinese-owned social media company from operating the U.S. as soon as Saturday.
Trump’s decision to stop TikTok from operating in the U.S. comes as the administration is investigating whether the app’s parent company, ByteDance, is harvesting the data of millions of American users. The U.S. Navy last year urged service members to delete the app from government devices.
Although Trump has been an active social media user mostly on Twitter and Facebook – but he has also pilloried those companies, alleging that their executives are squelching conservative voices on the platforms.
It also follows some weeks after Trump critics used TikTok to inflate expectations for turnout expected at the president’s rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which amounted to a major embarrassment for the president’s campaign.
It will also be another hit on a China own enterprise following a moment of extremely frayed U.S.-China relations, as Trump has engaged in a months-long trade war with Beijing and has accused its leaders of being the major reasons why the coronavirus spread into a pandemic and has claimed many lives as well as destroying economies around the globe.
However, TikTok has previously debunked the allegation, stating that it doesn’t send any user-collected data to China.

Even though TikTok is owned by a Chinese company, it is run by an American CEO. U.S. officials have raised concerns about the Chinese government tapping into personal data via Americans’ cellphones using such smartphone applications.
Trump’s threat to ban TikTok is the latest news on the social media app, while we still look forward to Microsoft moves to acquire the company as reported by The New York Times.
