People are finding it difficult to get their newly gifted iPad or other Apple products up and running. According to AppleInsider’s report, Apple is warning of iCloud account and sign-in issues which are happening even while we update this story that appears to have started on Christmas Day.

This is affecting a lot of people as many are struggling to set up their devices for the first time. Although Apple didn’t give detail in the alert, it told one Twitter user that “high capacity” was creating problems.
We will not be surprised if the high volume of gifted products that would be trying to be set up was directly responsible for the issues. Device activations already tend to spike around Christmas period not really minding the band.
Another factor could also be that most people would be buying devices to talk to their family and friends at a time when they aren’t allowed to visit due to the coronavirus pandemic, while others are getting smart speakers to play music while working from home.
This problem could spoil the initial experience of Apple gadgets for many users, even if that feeling is likely to pass once activation works properly. Let’s just hope this issue doesn’t last much longer — and that similar issues don’t affect other manufacturers as well.
