In a surprising move, Samsung has temporarily suspended shipments of its Galaxy Buds 3 Pro due to quality control issues.

The decision comes ahead of the official launch date, initially set for July 24. This strategic halt aims to prevent a public relations disaster reminiscent of the infamous Galaxy Note fiasco eight years ago.

Reports indicate that some users who received the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro early encountered a significant issue: easily torn ear tips.

Given that ear tips need frequent removal and replacement to achieve the perfect fit, this flaw could have resulted in widespread dissatisfaction and potentially costly recalls.

Samsung has responded by “urgently assessing and enhancing” the product’s quality control protocols.

As a result of these quality control concerns, Samsung has updated its website to reflect a new release date of August 28. However, it remains unclear whether this is a firm date or merely a placeholder.

Additionally, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro listing has been removed from Amazon.

In a statement, Samsung clarified, “To ensure all products meet our quality standards, we have temporarily suspended deliveries of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro devices to distribution channels to conduct a full quality control evaluation before shipments to consumers take place.”

Samsung Korea has already issued an apology for the quality control issues and has promised a comprehensive inspection.

The company has advised customers experiencing problems with their Galaxy Buds 3 Pro to contact Samsung support or visit a service centre. Furthermore, Android Authority published an email sent to a pre-order customer confirming the delay and advising them to request a cancellation if they prefer.
