Ticketmaster has become the latest victim of a massive cyber attack. Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster, has confirmed that personal information from approximately 560 million individuals has been compromised.

The hacking group responsible for this breach, ShinyHunters, has demanded a ransom of $500,000 to prevent the sale of the stolen data.

The information stolen allegedly includes sensitive personal details such as names, phone numbers, addresses, and partial payment information.

According to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Live Nation identified unauthorized activity on May 20 and immediately began investigating the incident.

On May 27, a criminal actor offered what they claimed to be company user data for sale on the dark web.

Live Nation has stated that it is actively working to reduce the risks posed to its customers and its business operations.

In their filing, the company noted, “As of the date of this filing, the incident has not had, and we do not believe it is reasonably likely to have, a material impact on our overall business operations or our financial condition or results of operations.”

The company continues to evaluate risks and take remediation measures.

This is not the first time Ticketmaster has faced security issues. The company previously encountered a bot attack during Taylor Swift ticket sales and has a history of illegal activity, including hacking into the computer system of its rival, Songkick.
