LG has teased its 2023 soundbars lineup ahead of CES, continuing its tradition of making several announcements before the big show.

The SC9 and SE6 models, both equipped with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for immersive sound, will be on display in Vegas, according to the company. For the time being, specifics are scarce, but LG did elaborate on some of the key features that both soundbars will offer.

First, the SC9 and SE6 will include Wow Orchestra, a tool that “utilizes each of the two products’ audio channels to create an expanded soundstage with improved height, depth, and power.”

That somewhat hazy description is all we have until we see these in action, but LG did explain that the feature will be available via software update after the launch. The two soundbars will also use Wowcast to connect wirelessly to LG TVs via WiFi.

Once synced, you can access audio settings on those displays via the Home Dashboard (also coming via future update). The SC9 and SE6’s performance is “boost” by a Triple Sound Optimizer feature, while Smart Up-mixer converts stereo audio to multi-channel surround sound.

LG claims that its AI Room Calibration adapts each soundbar to its environment, improving low-end frequency range and subdividing the front channels for better balance, clearer vocals, and enhanced dialogue.

The SC9 and SE6 also have an AI Sound Pro feature that analyzes content — movies, games, sports, or music — and applies the best settings automatically. LG claims that the SC9 and SE6 were designed with a minimalist focus to blend in with a variety of home furnishings.

Despite its smaller size, the soundbars still includes four passive radiators for “powerful bass,” according to LG, as well as Dolby Atmos support.

The company did not specify whether either of these will include a subwoofer or which additional speakers will be compatible with for a true surround sound setup.

However, we expect to learn all of the finer details, as well as information on connectivity and availability, when we arrive in Las Vegas next week.
