According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the next-generation iPad Pro with Apple’s latest M2 processor will be available in “a matter of days.”

It’ll be the first new model since May of last year, and it’ll reportedly be 20% faster than the M1 version. Apple will also release an iPad dock with an integrated speaker in 2023, as well as new Macs later this year, according to Gurman’s newsletter.

The new iPad Pro models will have the same form factors as the current models, with display sizes of 11-inch and 12.9-inch. While the performance boost isn’t huge (20% is still significant), the M2 chips should improve the efficiency of the iPad Pro.

Along with the new high-end models, Apple will soon release an entry-level iPad, according to Gurman.

It will reportedly have a USB-C port rather than a Lightning port (to comply with upcoming European regulations), as well as 5G support, but will use an A14 Bionic chip rather than an M-series chip.

Another intriguing piece of news is that Apple is developing an iPad docking accessory with a built-in speaker, which could be released next year.

Users could connect an iPad to the device to get a full home hub/smart speaker experience. It appears to be the Pixel charging speaker dock that Google announced would be available with the Pixel Tablet when it launches next year.

Finally, Apple is developing the next-generation Apple TV, which will feature an A14 chip and 4GB of RAM, a significant upgrade over the current A12 model.

While Gurman is generally correct in these matters, Apple has a habit of changing its mind about products and launch dates, so take the rumors with a grain of salt until they’re officially announced.
