This fall, Dell will release two new Alienware-branded monitors. Before you ask, they don’t have QD-OLED panels like the AW3423DW. The 27-inch AW2723DF is the more intriguing of the two new monitors. It has a 2560 x 1440 resolution, a native refresh rate of 240Hz, and a claimed 1ms gray to gray response time.

For games like Valorant and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a factory overclock allows you to increase the refresh rate to 280Hz. The monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync for more immersive gaming. It lacks local dimming, but HDR performance was good enough for the AW2723DF to earn VESA’s DisplayHDR 600 certification.

The AW2723DF is marketed by Alienware as the ideal monitor for gamers who also create content on the side. The screen on the AW2723DF covers 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. When working on the web, you can switch to sRGB using a toggle in the monitor’s OSD menu.
The AW2723DF, like most Dell monitors, is well-equipped with ports. In addition to the standard DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 connections, the monitor has multiple USB 3.2 Gen 1 inputs, a headphone jack, and an audio output.
The only thing lacking is an HDMI 2.1 connection for console gaming. A retractable headset hanger is new to the Alienware design. The stand can swivel, pivot, tilt, and adjust in height. If you want to use the AW2723DF with a monitor arm, it can also be VESA mounted.
The AW2523HF is designed for competitive gamers. It has a 25-inch LG IPS panel with a Full HD resolution, a refresh rate of 360Hz, and a gray-to-gray response time of up to 0.5ms. The screen is FreeSync Premium Pro certified and covers 99 percent of the sRGB color gamut.
The AW2523HF, like its sibling, has a retractable hanger for storing your gaming headset. The AW2523HF also has a hexagonal stand rather than the V-shaped one found on most Alienware monitors. According to Dell, the AW2523HF has a smaller footprint as a result of the design.

The AW2523HF will be the first of the two monitors to arrive. It will be available for $450 on September 7th. Meanwhile, when it hits store shelves on October 6th, the AW2723DF will cost $650.
