Just over a year after the previous batch, Anker has revealed its third-generation gallium nitride (GaN) chargers. GaNPrime is the name given by the company to its new line of power bricks and portable chargers.
Anker stated that it collaborated with several partners to develop products that are more durable and sustainable. The GaNPrime is billed as the “most intelligent, powerful, and environmentally friendly multi-device charging system ever created.”

The GaNPrime chargers feature the most recent version of Anker’s PowerIQ technology, which can detect the power requirements of each connected device and automatically adjust the power distribution to each USB-C port every three minutes.
Anker claims that charging two 67W 14-inch MacBook Pro laptops at the same time with a GaNPrime device will cut charging time by 62 minutes. GaNPrime chargers are also said to be compatible with over 1,000 mobile devices.
Furthermore, a feature known as ActiveShield 2.0 will monitor temperatures and adjust power output to protect devices connected to a charger. Anker claims to have increased temperature detection frequency by 75% over previous generations, monitoring temperatures 3 million times per day.
Anker claims that its new devices are much smaller than comparable market offerings. For example, it claims that the 150W 747 charger is 38% smaller than Apple’s 140W charger.
Meanwhile, Anker claims that GaNPrime models improve AC to DC power efficiency by 2% over previous GaN products. Anker claims that switching from legacy silicon to new GaN semiconductors can reduce carbon emissions by up to 30%.
The initial GaNPrime lineup includes six devices, all of which are available in the United States beginning today. The $60 65W 735 charger has one USB-A and two USB-C ports. The 615 USB Power Strip has two additional AC outlets. This is also a 65W charger that costs $70.

The 737 charger comes next, with a maximum output of 120W and the ability to fully charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro in 1.5 hours, according to Anker. The price of this model, which has one USB-A and three USB-C ports, is $95. The 747 charger is even more powerful, with a maximum output of 150W, one USB-A port, and three USB-C ports. It will set you back $110.
The 727 Charging Station is a power strip that has two AC, two USB-C, and two 2 USB-A ports. Anker claims it is 50% thinner than standard power strips. It costs $95, has a maximum output of 100W via USB-C, and costs $95.
The GaNPrime lineup also includes the 733 Power Bank. It has an AC output of up to 65W and a DC output of 30W (when in battery mode). It costs $100 and has one USB-A and two USB-C ports.
