As part of a test, some Twitter Spaces hosts can now create clips from recorded discussions. For the time being, only a few hosts on iOS have access to the feature; however, some Android and web users will be able to try it in the near future.

Hosts will have the ability to record up to 30 seconds of audio. Of course, they can tweet that snippet. The clips are available to all iOS users.

Since January, all hosts have been able to record their Spaces. The ability to tweet small snippets of their discussions could allow them to provide other Twitter users with insight into what their Spaces are all about, potentially expanding their audiences.

Twitter may be missing a trick by limiting hosts’ ability to clip audio from Spaces. Highlights can be clipped by all Twitch and YouTube users, which means that viewers can help draw attention to a creator by watching snippets of their videos.

However, given that Twitter is currently testing its clipping tool, the feature may be made available to listeners in the future.
