Because of its size and weight, some players have found it difficult to use the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. Despite the fact that Sony has yet to release an official counterpart to Microsoft’s Xbox Adaptive Controller, some people are attempting to make it easier for others to play PS5 games.
Akaki Kuumeri, a YouTuber, created an adapter that allows players to use the DualSense with one hand. The attachment is 3D-printed and snaps onto the left thumbstick. When the controller is placed on a surface (or one’s thigh), physically moving the entire controller moves the thumbstick. The L1 and L2 buttons are duplicated on the controller’s right side.

A second, optional attachment provides inputs for the D-pad as well. With the exception of the Share button, players would be able to use the entire controller with just one hand.
Because the DualSense is symmetrical, the attachments can be reversed to fit on the opposite side of the controller, according to Kuumeri. All you’d have to do is mirror the components before printing them.
Akaki Kuumeri entered the adapter in a competition for one-handed controller designs. For personal use, you can download the files and print the attachments.
The adapter could also be useful for gamers who don’t have trouble using the DualSense with both hands. Kuumeri shows how to play It Takes Two, a co-op-only game, solo using attachments on two controllers in a video.
The attachment could also provide a way for players to eat a snack or drink a beverage without having to hit the pause button.

Kuumeri’s design will not solve all of the players’ accessibility issues. Some people may grow tired of physically moving the controller around, or they may lack the dexterity to access all four shoulder buttons with one hand.
Nonetheless, the attachment could give many more people the opportunity to play games like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Returnal — as long as they have access to a 3D printer and a PS5.
