Esparza, the pilot you meet at the start of Halo Infinite, alerts Master Chief to a friendly UNSC tag in the cutscene.

While the short segment is mysterious, some speculate that the tag belongs to a character who did not appear in the main campaign, such as Commander Palmer or Spartan Locke. When the story picks up, you might have a ‘new’ ally.
