Google has just resolved one of the Pixel 6’s more vexing bugs at least for people in your address book. According to Android Police, the company has released a patch for a Google app flaw that randomly dialed people in your contacts.
That was especially irritating if your phone tried to call a family member in the middle of the night.

The problem is caused by faulty Google Assistant hotword detection. To temporarily resolve the issue, you could clear the Google app’s cache and settings, but the only surefire solution until now was to disable hotword recognition entirely.
This is far from the only issue with the Pixel 6. Display flickering, slow fingerprint detection, and other annoyances have been reported by owners of the Android 12 flagship.
However, given the potential consequences of unwanted calls, it’s safe to assume that a bug like this would be prioritized.
