Apple issued a series of warnings to Mac, iPhone, and iPad owners on Monday. Customers were warned about vulnerabilities in iOS, iPadOS, and macOS that could expose their devices to hackers.

To be clear, Apple stated that the vulnerabilities are not merely theoretical, “Apple is aware of a report that this issue has been actively exploited,” the company warned.
For all three operating systems, the problem appears to be the same, or at least similar in effect. “With kernel privileges, an application may be able to execute arbitrary code,” Apple explained.
Which, to put it mildly, isn’t good. Fortunately, there is a simple solution — albeit one that requires you to take action.
All iPhone and iPad owners need to do is download and install iOS 14.7.1 and iPadOS 14.7.1 (assuming you have an iPhone 6s or later, an iPad Pro, an iPad Air 2 or later, an iPad 5th generation or later, an iPad mini 4 or later, or an iPod touch 7th generation).
To do so, plug your device in to a power source and go to Settings > General > Software Update and follow the directions there.
For Mac owners, click the Apple button (in the upper-left corner of your screen) > About This Mac > Software Update > Update Now.
