It’s a good thing that some game streaming platforms will let you stream at 1080p or even 4K, but that’s not very good when you are concerned about data caps or a sluggish connection, but Amazon has announced a solution to that effect.

The company has just announced a 720p option for its Luna service that can reduce data consumption while maintaining smooth game-play. This will only require that you visit the Settings tab in Luna to toggle the lower resolution and you’re good to ride.

Meanwhile, Luna is not the only game streaming platform with 720p, Google Stadia and Microsoft’s xCloud have made it available for their users for a while now, and in the case of xCloud, you do not need to go elsewhere to toggle it as it has been the default.

This move by Amazon, of course could make Luna viable if you previously thought it wasn’t necessary getting it, although it might make the most sense if you frequently play on your phone and might not miss 1080p as much as you would on your TV.
