Anyone who lives in an English-speaking country can ask Alexa to “play the Queen’s Christmas day message” after 3 PM GMT (10 AM ET) and the life inspiring speech from the Queen will play while other activities continue.
Smart speakers that will play the message will not include Google Assistant and HomePod, but those who have access to BBC Radio 4 on their speaker can also get the live broadcast from the channel.
It’s a relatively late move when smart speakers have been around for several years as this goes to show how voice assistants have infiltrated the mainstream and might make a case for smart speakers, at least Amazon’s if you can’t listen or watch live.
