After its first release in the US this past August, Microsoft’s Surface Duo will make its way to other countries next year. The company announced Tuesday that its dual-screen Android phone will arrive in Canada, France, Germany, and the UK in early 2021.

Microsoft also said Duo users can now download an updated version of TikTok since the video-sharing app hasn’t been banned yet as threatened by the Trump administration.
The updated app takes advantage of the phone’s dual-screen design, which allows users to watch videos on one screen display while browsing hashtags and searching for specific clips on the other screen.
Third-party apps that take advantage of the Surface Duo’s unique design have been very few so far. Before TikTok, the most notable examples were Spotify and Amazon’s Kindle app.
Developers are encouraged to tweak their apps to take advantage of Duo’s features, and that’s something most developers are feeling very reluctant to do until now.

Expanded availability of Microsoft’s Surface Duo could make it easier for the tech giant to convince companies and developers to update their apps.
